When I’m looking for a quick weeknight meal, my go-to lately
has been this easy fish taco recipe! Packed with crispy spicy fish, and fresh ingredients,
I’m left feeling satisfied and full! I learned this recipe from trial and error
and has quickly become a fan favorite amongst friends and family.
Ingredients (feeds 2-3)
Fish:
1lb tilapia (I used tilapia here, but you can easily
substitute any white fish here!)
1 tbs Cajun seasoning
½ tbs Cayenne pepper,
½ tbs Garlic powder
Black pepper, to taste
Mango Salsa:
½ avocado, diced
½ cup diced onion
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
3 approx. mangos, dependent on the size and quality of mango
1 lime juice
Toppings:
Corn tortillas
Cabbage
Cotija Cheese
Crema or Sour Cream
I usually make the mango salsa first because the prep time required
takes longer than the fish to cook, and I want the fish fresh off of the
skillet for my tacos!
How to make Mango salsa:
1. Dice onion and cilantro and add to bowl.
4. Add lime juice and mix together, careful not to mash the avocado.

How to make Fish tacos:
1. On a cutting board or any flat surface, lay fish out
flat. Then in a small bowl, stir together your seasonings: 1 tbs Cajun seasoning,
½ tbs cayenne, ½ tbs of garlic powder, and pepper to taste. Evenly sprinkle the
seasonings over both sides of the fish.
2. In a medium pan, over medium-high heat, add approx. 1 tbs
of olive oil. You want the pan hot so that you get a nice crispy sear on the
fish.
3. Once oil and pan are hot, lay seasoned fish in the pan
gently. Flip after they get a good sear on both sides. Fish doesn’t take a long
time to cook, so I recommend about 1 minute per side.
4. This step is optional, but with my spatula or tongs, I start
breaking the fish into small pieces so that it looks almost shredded. I do this
to get the seasoning on all parts of the fish so that every bite is bursting
with flavor!
5. Once fish is cooked, remove from heat and cover until
ready to start plating tacos.

Prepare tacos:
1. Toast tortillas and add them to a plate.
2. Add fish, mango salsa, and other desired toppings.
3. Add a fresh lime wedge for an extra punch of citrus.
4. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this quick and healthy fish taco recipe! This
is a fun recipe so its easy to get as creative with it as possible!
I think the title of the post is great! It is simple and gets the point across right away. I like the idea that you see a big picture at first and then click on the picture to see the recipe! Although I like the clean an clear picture of the mango sauce ingredients on the home page, I might substitute it with the picture of the actual tacos. I found the layout to be simple and easy to read. My only other suggestion would be to see if you can rotate the pictures to be horizontal instead of vertical that way the pictures may appear bigger with less white space on each side. Your recipe sounds yummy and I can't wait to try it at home.
ReplyDeleteThis post was a quick and easy read that I enjoyed following along. The writing and spacing is clear and the images correspond well with text to support visual images of the recipe steps. The steps and different elements of the recipe are separated and ordered well, I was able to differentiate between the different elements easily. A couple suggestions that I see: a title picture/cover picture with the final product, filling white space, and adding some color to the post would add some visual appeal. This can help make this easy, delicious recipe (that I have had the fortune to eat myself) visually appealing too. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to the next post!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe looks so good! The way you added pictures to follow along with as the recipe went on was a great way visual! I will definitely be trying this recipe for a quick and healthy dinner during the week!
ReplyDeleteI really like how everything is separated out by pictures! It makes it so much easier to follow along and find my place when I need to look away from the page. I can't wait to try the tacos, they look so good!
